Ok, I now have the new Harry Potter book. However, I won't be able to read it for a while, since I go on duty in 8 hours (i.e. I need sleep, then I'll be busy all day). So, don't expect me to be going anywhere near the internet until I'm safe from spoilers :)

Snap.

Which cover did you get? I've always prefered the children's covers up until now - but for some reason the children's cover for book 6 didn't appeal, and the adult one (with a picture of the Advanced book of Potions)did.

I went for the adult cover. I got the children's cover for book 4 (since it was the first book I bought, and I didn't know about variant covers at that point), then the adult photo covers for the first three (which cost 1 quid extra for some reason), and the adult drawn covers for 5 and 6. I certainly prefer the adult cover for the most recent one, since it looks a bit more classy.

Oh yes, and one aside on that - I'd preordered from Waterstones, so they'd put the relevant book aside for me, but all the copies in the main part of the shop (for people who hadn't pre-ordered) were the children's cover - I don't know whether it was like this in other branches/chains too.
