Just a quick note to say that I've returned home after my week away. I had a good break, and I'll post a longer post later on with details.

The main reason for this post is a public service announcement - avoid travelling northbound on the M23/A23 near Croydon if you can possibly avoid it. I got stuck there for an hour and a half on my way back, barely moving at all. They're digging up the road to repair a gas main, which started at 8pm this evening and finishes on the 24th; I don't know if that was the only cause (since it didn't seem to affect southbound traffic), but as soon as I got past that point I returned to normal speed.

In other news, I had 654 spam emails waiting for me, so shuripentu came closest in my poll with a prediction of 700 - as a reward, I can forward you a spam message as a souvenir :)
