Job news

Well, the company has now announced redundancies, and mine is one of the jobs that's going. It's unfortunate, but I can understand the situation that the bosses are in, so it's all amicable. They trust me not to start looting the place, so I'll be sticking around for a while to tie up some loose ends and do a handover, and I may come back for some ad-hoc contracting in the future.

That said, I do now need to find a new job. I don't really need any advice on CV/agencies/whatever, but if you have any vacancies in your company, feel free to get in touch. (My main skillset is VB6/VB.NET/SQL Server development in Windows.)

Right, menu time. Or recipe time? Meh, one of the above, delete as applicable, etc.

John's "How to cheer up after losing your job" fry-up (aka "That dot you can see in the distance is your diet plan disappearing over the horizon"):

6 Quorn sausages
6 Morningstar "Streaky Strips" (fake bacon)
3 fried eggs
1 can of baked beans
1 pint of Coke

Now to be followed by "A Knight's Tale" on DVD.
