That does look like a very cool bike indeed :)

What brakes, gears and pedals options did you go for in the end?

The pedals will be some form of SPD, but I'm not sure of the exact model.

The gears will be two at the front and nine at the back - I think he called that a "twin set". Apparently there's a trade-off: having two cogs at the front means smoother gear changes, but having three cogs would give me a wider range of gears. So, I might need to work a bit harder with this combination, but that shouldn't be a problem; I only have three gears on the Brompton altogether!

I'm getting dropped handlebars, and we looked at two types of gears: Shimano and something else (Campag?). The Campag gears allowed a second set of brake levers on top of the handlebars, but Chas said that the Shimano gears would give smoother changes, so that's what I went for. At the wheel end, the brakes will be cantilevers.
