Ah well, that settles that. Had an email back from my tutor today, about attending extra courses:

"If you are not registered for a course, then you cannot attend it. The problem is King's College insurance and fire regulations... If there is an accident or fire and you are in the class, then you are not insured and the lecturer that let you will be responsible."

I guess that makes sense, although it's not an issue that had occurred to me before.

Everywhere I've ever been, if you are attending the college then you can attend ("audit") any course you like, and sometimes they'll even grade your homeworks and mark your exam.

To be honest, I think that King's are trying to pull a fast one here.

Hi,
I actually know of some people who've been attending extra courses - of course,
it's 'off the record'. But unless the class is really small, i don't think the lecturer would
note an extra person.
