Ideal Home Show

Today I went off to the Ideal Home Show, with Eemeli. That went well - a bit tiring, but it was productive.

I chose a beanbag sofa and footstool cube there. You can click on the link there to see the colour chart - I'm getting a red sofa, and green (not lime green) cube. I paid for them today, and I'll be collecting them from the show (at reception) on Tuesday, since I've got the day off to pick up keys and stuff. This has the advantage of saving me 20 quid for delivery, and I'm sure it can't be that hard to carry a huge beanbag for half a mile. While also carrying a cube. Hmm :)

I also collected various catalogues, and arranged for a couple of kitchen companies to visit the flat on Wednesday so that they can inspect the kitchen and give me quotes. There are some discounts from seeing them at the show, and I get a free 30-piece dinner set just for letting them turn up, so that's encouraging.

Aside from that, there were some stalls giving out free food samples, so we grazed on them as we went past. "Glass of rum, sir?" "Don't mind if I do..." And some furniture that looked quite cool, even though I have no intention of buying it, e.g. the TV bed (with mini cinema screen sticking out of the footboard) and rollover billiards table.
