Flat update

Made another visit to the flat today (probably my last one before I move in on Tuesday), and there's been some progress.

The floor tiles in the kitchen and WC have been grouted, and the floorboards in the bedroom/lounge/landing have been sanded and varnished. I've updated my main building history page, and added a new page for the current status (a lot shorter). The flat certainly looks a lot more welcoming with the nicer floors. Although it's slightly unfortunate that the Cat6 cables (which should terminate to the right of the fireplace in the lounge) are still underneath the boards, so those boards will have to be pulled up again. Still no sign of the plasterer, which may delay the electrician from doing his second fix. The latest schedule is to have everything finished this coming Friday. So, poll-time...

Poll #332882 Building work

Will all the building work be finished on Friday?

Absolutely - these people are professionals, and their word is their bond
I'm sure it will, barring major catastrophe (e.g. volcano, meteor strike)
Flip a coin - heads it will, tails it won't
You never know, it might happen...
Sh'yeah, and monkeys might fly out of my butt

Well, that's annoying: today is the second day in a row that I've been issued with an £80 penalty fare notice for "failing to produce a valid ticket"…
