Just a brief "I'm still alive" post. I've now got my PC set up properly at home, and I'm taking this coming week off work in a last ditch attempt to get my project under control. The deadline for the report is Friday 3rd, but I really need to get it finished by Monday 30th, so that I have time to get it bound. I was going to take that week off work (30th->3rd), but I figure that this way makes more sense. The boss was pretty understanding about it, despite me giving him very little notice, which was nice of him.

Speaking of work, we had a virus outbreak the other day (W32/Pate.B). More of a nuisance than anything else, but it took a while to get it under control. One of the consultants said that it was like having the Ghostbusters in the office when three of us from IT came rushing around all the machines, trying to identify the source. (We work in the building next door, so it's unusual to see more than one of us over there at a time.) I think that's quite a flattering comparison!

The flat is now more or less functional, although I can't unpack properly until it's all finished. That's probably about a month away, but I've lost my enthusiasm to even rant about it anymore. One recommendation - avoid UK Appliances if you're buying stuff. It's been almost three months since I placed my order, and I'm still waiting for my washing machine to turn up.

In other news, I've joined the local branch of Holmes Place, mainly to get access to a shower. I've been swimming there a couple of times, and I'm impressed. It's more expensive than the Imperial sports centre, but the facilities are nicer. I've literally been the only person in the pool at some points, and I've also been trying out the jacuzzi and sauna. I could get used to this...
